Our Story

The Heart of Costa del Oro

Nestled within the sun-drenched coastal hills of Santa Barbara, Costa del Oro is a private baroque sanctuary dedicated to the preservation of classical artistry. Our estate is defined by a unique dual heritage: the fire and grace of the Iberian horse paired with the noble, athletic spirit of the Irish draught. Here, the traditions of the Spanish School meet the brilliance of modern competition, set against an architectural backdrop of traditional stone archways and high-end training facilities. Hacienda Costa del Oro stands as a prestigious landmark where historical elegance, heritage, and the spirit of the horse meet.

Set against a sun-drenched coastal backdrop, the estate—often referred to as Hacienda Costa del Oro—combines the architectural beauty of traditional stone archways with high-end training facilities. Costa del Oro stands as a prestigious landmark where heritage, artistry, and the spirit of the horse meet.

Our estate is anchored by the noble spirits of the Pura Raza Española (PRE) and the Lusitano. These horses are the living heart of the Baroque tradition, prized for their natural ability to perform the complex "Airs Above the Ground." At Costa del Oro, we honor their historical role as the mounts of kings, focusing on their exceptional collection, intelligence, and the rhythmic "compás" that makes them the masters of the dressage arena.

Complementing our Iberian fire is the steadfast athleticism of our Irish horses. Whether it is the bold, honest nature of the Irish Draught or the refined power of the Irish Sport Horse, these animals bring a legendary work ethic to our estate. Renowned for their versatility and kind temperaments, our Irish lines provide the perfect balance of scope for the jumping course and a calm, noble presence in the stable, embodying a heritage of rugged elegance.
